New Entry Type

In Password Depot, you can create your own entry types. You have the option to choose from a number of predefined field types and can optionally assign values directly to these fields, so that each new entry derived from it already specifies these values.

When you create a custom type, it is always available under Edit -> New -> Custom.

To create a custom entry type, follow these steps:

  • Click on Edit -> New Entry Type
  • Give the new entry type a name
  • Under Elements, you can specify the fields of the new type. Click on the + icon to do so. Now you can choose from these predefined fields:
    • Username
    • Password
    • URL
    • Notes
    • Importance
    • Valid until
    • Category
    • Tags
    • In addition, you can also Create custom field.

Furthermore, the following commands are available to you:

  • Edit Field: Select an existing field from the Elements list and click the Edit icon to modify it.
  • Delete Field: Select an existing field from the Elements list and click the Delete icon to remove it.
  • Move Up: Select an existing field from the Elements list and click the Up icon to move it one row up.
  • Move Down: Select an existing field from the Elements list and click the Down icon to move it one row down.
