Import Users

The Import Users wizard allows you to import user accounts from a file into the Password Depot Enterprise Server. Existing users are updated, while new users are added.

Step 1 – Select Source File

On the first page of the wizard, you select the source file containing the users to import.

  • Source file: – Enter the path to the import file or click the button to the right of the input field to select a file using the Open dialog.

NOTE: The import file must be in the expected format (e.g., CSV). Ensure the file is correctly formatted before starting the import.

Click Next to load the users from the file and proceed to the next page. This button is only enabled when a valid file has been selected.

Step 2 – Review and Import Users

On the second page, a list of users to import or update is displayed.

  • Users that already exist on the server will be updated during the import.
  • New users will be added.
  • The Super Administrator is skipped during import and cannot be imported.

Click Import to start the import process. A progress indicator is displayed during the import. The import can be aborted.

After the import is complete, the Status column shows whether each user was successfully added or updated.

Wizard Buttons

  • Back – Returns to the previous page. This button is disabled after the import has completed.
  • Next / Import – Proceeds to the next page or starts the import process. This button is disabled after the import has completed.
  • Close – Closes the wizard. This button is disabled while the import is in progress.

HINT: The import file can be generated using the export function of another Password Depot Enterprise Server to transfer users between servers.
