Log in to the server

Logging in to the Password Depot Enterprise Server Manager as an Administrator

The login dialog (LOG IN TO SERVER) of the Server Manager allows you to connect to the Password Depot Enterprise Server. Here you enter the server address, select the authentication method, and provide your login credentials.

Step 1: Launch the Server Manager

Launch the Password Depot Enterprise Server Manager on the computer where the software is installed, or from any machine on the network.

Step 2: Enter Server Address and Port

Enter the connection details in the respective fields:

  • Address: The IP address, domain name of the server, or localhost if you are on the same device where the server is running.
  • Port: The port used to connect to the server. The default port is 25019 (may vary depending on configuration and version).

Step 3: Select Authentication Method

Select the desired authentication method from the dropdown. The following methods are available:

  • Standard Authentication: Log in with a username and password managed directly in the Password Depot Enterprise Server.
  • Integrated Windows Authentication: Single Sign-On (SSO) using the currently logged-in Windows user. The username is determined automatically and cannot be edited. No password entry is required.
  • Windows Domain Credentials: Log in with Windows domain credentials. In addition to the username and password, a Domain field is displayed where you can select or enter the Windows domain.
  • Entra ID: Authentication via Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). The username is pre-filled from saved settings. No password entry is required, as authentication is handled by Entra ID.
  • OpenID Connect: Authentication via an OpenID Connect identity provider. Select the desired provider in the Identity Provider field. Use the Discover Identity Providers button to retrieve the available identity providers from the server.
  • WebAuthn/Passkeys: Authentication using WebAuthn-compatible passkeys or security keys.

NOTE: Depending on the selected authentication method, different input fields are shown or hidden. For example, the Password field is only visible for Standard Authentication and Windows Domain Credentials, and the Identity Provider field is only visible for OpenID Connect.

Step 4: Enter Login Credentials

Depending on the selected authentication method, the following fields are available:

  • Domain: The Windows domain (only visible for Windows Domain Credentials). The domain is sent to the server together with the username in the format DOMAIN\Username.
  • Username: Your username for logging into the server. For Integrated Windows Authentication, this field is automatically filled with the current Windows username and cannot be edited. For Entra ID and OpenID Connect, the last used username is loaded from saved settings.
  • Password: Your password (only visible for Standard Authentication and Windows Domain Credentials).
  • Identity Provider: The OpenID Connect identity provider (only visible for OpenID Connect). Click the Discover Identity Providers button to retrieve the available providers from the server.

Step 5: Log In

Click the LOG IN button to log into the server. Upon successful authentication, the Server Manager dashboard is displayed.

WARNING: The default login credentials are admin for both the username and the password. For security reasons, change these credentials immediately after your first login.

HINT: When the login dialog opens, the input focus is automatically placed on the first empty field (Address → Port → Username → Password), so you can start typing right away.
