Server Policies – Server Supervisors
On the Server Supervisors tab, you define which users act as Server Supervisors. Server Supervisors are special user accounts that have extended oversight and control privileges over the Password Depot Enterprise Server. They can, for example, be notified when security-relevant events occur and have the ability to restore default settings.
Overview
The tab displays a list of all currently configured Server Supervisors. The Server Supervisors list contains the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Account | The account name (user name) of the supervisor. |
| Full name | The full name of the user. For group objects, the description is displayed instead. |
| The email address of the supervisor. | |
| Department | The department of the supervisor. |
Managing Supervisors
Below the list, the following buttons are available:
- Add – Opens a selection dialog where you can add one or more users as Server Supervisors. Users already present in the list will not be added again.
- Remove – Removes the currently selected supervisor from the list. This button is only enabled when an entry is selected.
- Clear – Removes all supervisors from the list. This button is only enabled when at least one entry exists in the list.
NOTE: Users who have access to the Server Manager are displayed in the list with a different icon than users without this access. Groups are also indicated with their own distinct icon.
HINT: It is recommended to configure at least one Server Supervisor so that a responsible contact person is available for security-relevant events or required approval processes.
NOTE: By clicking Restore default settings, you can reset the settings in the Server Supervisors tab back to their defaults and thus discard any changes.
