Licensing model
for Password Depot Enterprise Server
You need a license for Enterprise Server for the required number of users. All clients for all operating systems are included.
The user count of Password Depot Enterprise Server defines the number of users you can create on the server.
Setting up up to three users on Enterprise Server does not require a license. In this case, the server can be downloaded and used free of charge.
If more than three users are required on Enterprise Server, a server license must be purchased. This license is offered in tiers, starting at five users and going up to an unlimited number of users.
Unlimited term of use
You purchase a license that becomes your property without any time limit. Licenses purchased can therefore be used indefinitely.
Updates & Upgrades
Feature updates and major version upgrades are available to you if you have a valid software maintenance plan. Free security updates to fix identified security issues remain unaffected.
Free security updates
We provide security updates to fix identified security issues free of charge during the applicable support period. Wherever technically feasible, security updates are provided separately from feature updates. If, in exceptional cases, the security fix requires a subsequent program version that is compatible with your existing environment, no additional license costs will apply.
Automatic renewal
If you purchase software maintenance, it will automatically renew for another year unless you object to the renewal. You will be notified by email 60 days before the renewal date.
Can be used without a maintenance contract
If you have not purchased software maintenance or have not renewed it, you will no longer receive additional feature updates and upgrades. However, you can continue using your current version indefinitely; free security updates during the applicable support period remain unaffected.
Flexible maintenance renewal
If you no longer have software maintenance, you can later purchase an upgrade to a newer major version or renew your software maintenance retroactively (since it must be continuous) – whichever is more cost-effective for you. Free security updates remain unaffected.
All clients included
When you purchase the Enterprise Server for the desired number of users, you also receive all clients for all supported operating systems as well as the web interface.
Named Licences
The licences purchased are Named Licences and may only ever be installed and used by a single user, but on any number of computers and operating systems. In addition, a licence can be used in all available localized languages.
Special Conditions
Special conditions are available for non-profit organizations, government institutions, schools, and universities.
