Yes. Password Depot uses the same database format .pswe across all platforms. A database you created with the Windows client can therefore also be opened in the Linux client – with the same master password and without any conversion. This also applies to .pswe databases created with an older main version (e.g. version 18).
Transfer options
File system: Copy the .pswe file – on Windows, it is stored in the Documents\Password Depot folder by default – to the Linux system, for example via USB stick or network share, and open it there in the client.
Cloud service: Store the database with a cloud service and open it from both systems. The database is never stored unencrypted in the cloud at any time; it is decrypted exclusively locally on the respective device. To see which cloud services your Linux client connects to directly, check its database overview. You can find step-by-step instructions in the article "How can I access my databases from different devices?".
Enterprise Server (teams): If several people work with the same databases, the database is stored centrally on the Enterprise Server, and the Linux client connects directly to the server. To allow this, the administrator must enable the Linux Edition under Connections → Supported clients in the Server settings.
Older file formats
If your database comes from an older program version and has a different file extension (e.g. .pswd, .psw8), first open it in the Windows client in version 18 and save it there in the current .pswe format. Then transfer the file as described above.
Limitation: feature set of the Linux client
The Linux client does not yet cover all features of the Windows client. When you open a database maintained on Windows, individual features or entry details may therefore not (yet) be displayed or editable on Linux. Your data is not affected by this: the database itself is not modified, and the full feature set remains available in the Windows client. Keep the Linux client up to date – its feature set grows with the updates.
Note: Regardless of the transfer method, create regular backup copies of your database before using it on an additional system.
