As of version 19, the Password Depot app for Android requires Android 12 or later. Version 19 therefore cannot be installed on devices running an older Android version. The app is free and does not require a license key – so switching between app versions does not raise any licensing questions.
Installing the current version
Install or update the app via the Google Play Store (search for "Password Depot").
Older device: How to obtain older app versions
If your device does not meet the requirement for version 19, you can use an older major version of the app:
Open the Previous Versions page on our website: https://www.password-depot.de/en/resources/previous.htm
In the section "Password Depot for Android" you will find the installation files (APK) of older major versions – for example version 18 – each with checksums for verifying the download.
Download the appropriate version and install it on your device.
Support does not send APK files by email – please obtain older versions exclusively from this official download page.
Note: The mobile app does not have to be the same major version as your Windows client or Enterprise Server. When signing in to the Enterprise Server, select the matching server version in the app's login window.
Note: Older app versions no longer receive bug fixes. Cloud providers in particular change their interfaces and security requirements regularly – older versions can therefore lose access to Dropbox, Google Drive, and other services (the Dropbox article under "Related topics" describes an example). Use an older app version only if your device cannot receive a newer Android version, and update the app and the device as soon as possible.
